Viz is celebrating Battle Royale with a “remastered” release of the title, along with Battle Royale Slam Book, a collection of essays. Slam Book takes a deep dive into the world of Battle Royale, opening up a whole new viewpoint on the cult hit. If you’ve only ever seen the film, reading the book is an absolute must. It presents so much more than the film ever could. A real page-turner.

On the manga side, we’ve got new volumes of Alice in the Country, Bleach, and Happy Marriage?! to entertain readers. If you’re into pants-less girls, then be sure to pick up Vol. 2 of Strike Witches: Maidens in the Sky. As for anime, there isn’t much besides the hypersexual Ebiten: Ebisugawa Public High School’s Tenmonbu and a couple of lower-profile box sets.
